As I say in the site’s About section, the past persists in the present. When I launched the site, there was a refugee crisis comparable to the one that my family and I experienced after World War II. Over the past decade or so, sadly, it has only gotten worse. If something that I wrote has prompted you to contact me, consider contacting one or more—the list will expand—of these fine organizations first:
World Central Kitchen, a not-for-profit non-governmental organization providing meals in the wake of natural disasters and wars founded in 2010 by Spanish American chef José Andrés. It is now in Ukraine, Poland, Romania, Moldova and Hungary.
International Rescue Committee, a global humanitarian aid, relief and development non-governmental organization founded in 1933 at the request of German-born theoretical physicist Albert Einstein. It now provides food, medical care and emergency support to those whose lives are shattered by conflict in places such as Ukraine, Afghanistan, Syria and Yemen.
Of course, I would love to hear directly from you, as well. If you complete the following contact form, I will respond as soon as possible.
